Days & Hours of Work: Monday to Friday totalling 38 hours per week
Competitive Salary: Band 6 - $98,867.71 p.a. + 11.5% superannuation
Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home

About the Role:

We are looking for a HR Advisor to join our inspired, engaged and fun People and Strategy team. We have four Strategic People & Culture Business Partners that can’t wait for you to join the team so that you can support them, and the organisation, through the provision of high-quality generalist HR support and advice to our leaders, employees and teams.

We’re looking for someone who is service orientated, understands the importance of building strong working relationships across the organisation, is compassionate and has a collaborative approach. If you like diverse and interesting work and passionately care about making a difference for the organisation and the community, this could be the perfect role for you.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working in partnership with the Strategic People & Culture Business Partners, to provide quality and commercially effective advice to employees and people leaders.
  • Providing accurate and specialised advice regarding interpretation of the Enterprise Agreement (EA), policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Providing People Leaders with best practice advice and support regarding employee relations matters.
  • Supporting People Leaders and employees through end-to-end employee life cycle matters including, probation management and Performance Journey processes.
  • Supporting hiring managers and candidates through the recruitment process as required.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or other related field and relevant experience in the HR industry, preferably within Local Government.
  • Experience in all aspects of the employee life cycle.
  • An understanding of employment legislation.
  • Experience in interpretation and application of Industrial Instruments.
  • A strong customer service focus.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems (PageUp and/or, AURION are highly desirable).

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
