Competitive Salary: Band 6 - $101,833.74 + 12% superannuation

About the Role:

This role sits within our Amenity Protection team and plays an important part in managing construction activity across Bayside.

As a Construction Management Plan (CMP) Assessment Officer, you’ll be responsible for assessing and overseeing Construction Management Plans to ensure development is carried out safely, with minimal disruption to the community, and in line with Council requirements. You’ll work closely with developers, contractors and internal teams by initiating and facilitate meetings with builders/developers, as required, to ensure a clear understanding of Council’s expectations and requirements pertaining to CMP,’s and other required documentation.

You will be responsible for:

• Assess Construction Management Plans for compliance with permits, Council standards and legislation
• Work with developers, contractors, residents and internal teams to manage construction impacts and resolve issues
• Manage Asset Protection requirements for CMP sites, including application assessment and bond determinations
• Prepare clear reports and correspondence, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are maintained in Council systems

 Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

• Demonstrated ability to assess and approve Construction Management Plans in accordance with relevant legislation, planning permit conditions and Council Local Laws, ensuring effective site management, protection of Council assets and minimisation of impacts on community amenity
• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, including the Road Management Act, Planning and Environment Act, EPA requirements, traffic management codes of practice, and Council Local Laws relating to construction and building sites
• Ability to effectively engage with stakeholders and manage construction-related issues
• Possess a continuous improvement mindset
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work with limited supervision
• Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and accurate record keeping

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

• Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
• Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check 
• Current Victorian Driver's License
