Community Engagement Support Officer

  • Employment Status: Part time, fixed term to 30 June 2025
  • Days & Hours of Work: 3 days (days flexible) totalling 22.8 hours per week
  • Competitive Salary: Band 5 - $80,620.19 pro rata. + 11.5% superannuation
  • Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home

About the Role:

We’ve got a new part-time and flexible job opportunity for a Community Engagement Support Officer who wants to help shape the future of Bayside.

You’ll be a key contact for our community and colleagues across the organisation throughout the development of the major strategic plans of Bayside's next Council, which will be elected in October. These plans are the Council Plan, Financial Plan, Asset Plan and Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering communications plans to keep our community informed.
  • Creating engaging and accessible online and print content.
  • Supporting community engagement activities and our community panel.
  • Assisting internal collaboration on strategic plans.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Exceptional communications skills in-person, in print and online.
  • A customer-centric approach to relationships.
  • Initiative, attention to detail and ability to prioritise.

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
