This unique role will contribute to the safety and amenity of the municipality. The successful candidate will also be trained to proficiently perform Local Laws duties, to support our Local Laws staff, through the provision of information, assistance and advice to the community, and through the enforcement of relevant legislation. This will also include investigating complaints, undertaking inspections, impounding animals, issuing infringements and preparing briefs of evidence.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Certificate IV Statutory Compliance or Diploma of Justice or similar qualification will be considered.
  • Strong customer service focus, with well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Self-motivator with well-developed conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organise rosters, interviews, training, timesheets and leave applications for Children Crossing Supervisors.
  • Experience in enforcement or willing to learn related regulatory fields, to confidently educate and enforce Councils legislation responsibilities.

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence.

What we can offer you in return:

  • A work life/balance through flexible working arrangements.
  • Generous leave provisions, including accrued time off, parental leave, three days of wellbeing leave per year, cultural and ceremonial leave, gender affirmation leave, plus the ability to purchase up to four weeks additional leave per year.
  • Dedicated Staff Wellbeing programs, events and gym membership discounts.
  • Learning and development opportunities so our people can grow and thrive.
  • A Parkland surrounded office that is only short 500m stroll to the beach.
  • Free onsite staff parking plus hybrid vehicles that employees can book for work related travel.
  • A Green Money program, that rewards our staff for taking simple everyday steps to a more substantiable and climate aware living.
