Immunisation Nurse Year 2 - $53.68 per hour + 12% superannuation

About the Role:

You will be working in a small team within Family Services and support the Immunisation Team Leader to respond to immunisation queries, promote immunisation services and attend sessions including outreach and staff immunisations.

Support Immunisation Team Leader to deliver immunisation services at BCC:

  • Adhering to compliance requirements around Cold Chain management, reporting vaccination episodes to Australian Immunisation Register and ordering vaccines
  • Maintaining accurate immunisation records and following up on overdue children residing in Bayside including attend outreach
  • Assistance with planning and promotion of immunisation service and sessions
  • Lead team of nurses at sessions in absence of Immunisation Team Leader which may include backfilling Immunisation Team Leader role at times

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of National Immunisation program, including a well-developed understanding of the National Health and Medical Research Council’s standards pertaining to immunisation and nurse practice
  • Ability to communicate information to parents and caregivers regarding immunisation schedules and common reactions
  • Experience in local government immunisation services preferred
  • Ability to work in a small team environment
  • Experience working with Information Technology platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Excel, CIRV, HPOS, Word, Outlook preferred

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
  • Tertiary qualifications; current registration as Division One Nurse with Nurse Immuniser Accreditation within the state of Victoria. Fulfilled AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency) requirements
  • Current Victorian drivers licence
