Recreation and Events Administration Officer

Employment Status: Fixed term until October 2025
Days & Hours of Work: 3 days per week or 22.8 hours per week
Competitive Salary: Band 4 - $72,796 pro rata + 11.5% superannuation
Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home

About the Role:

This position reports to the Recreation and Events Coordinator and provides administrative support to the Recreation and Events team. The role will have a focus on high quality customer service, administration support and continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for:

  • Administration and support for recreation, filming and events
  • Assist the team with permits, bookings and data collection
  • Customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Support process and system improvements
  • Monitor and assist to implement actions and outcomes identified within strategic documents
  • Support the team to foster positive relationships with key agencies, sports clubs and community groups
  • Assist with community engagement activities, forums and workshops

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Experience in administration of Recreation, Sport, or Events or a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications
  • Experience in providing high quality customer service for internal and external customers in a recreation/events field including problem solving and managing customers/stakeholders’ expectations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to monitor, prioritise and operate with competing priorities

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
