Days & Hours of Work: 4 days, totalling 30.4 hours per week
Competitive Salary: MCH Team Leader Year 2 - $142,123 pro rata (inclusive of 6.5% qualification and 6.5% additional duties allowances) + 12% superannuation
Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with some flexibility to work from home

About the Role:

The key purpose of the Maternal & Child Health Team Leader role is to optimise the health and wellbeing outcomes of families with young children in Bayside through providing operational leadership, day to day management, support, and clinical guidance to the Maternal & Child Health (both Universal and Enhanced), and Supported Playgroup teams. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Efficient operation of Maternal and Child Health Service delivered by inclusive, customer centric and competent staff.
  • A high standard of clinical care is provided to children and families within Bayside.
  • High level of clinical competence and overall performance maintained with development opportunities identified and acted upon.
  • The Maternal & Child Health service operates in accordance with State Government and Council policies, procedures, and guidelines, with risks to both Council and clients minimised.
  • A multidisciplinary, integrated and cohesive service delivery with a child, parent and family focus.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Division 1 Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife and hold tertiary qualifications in Child, Family & Community Health (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse.
  • Experience in team leadership within a Maternal & Child Health or nursing context.
  • Registration with AHPRA.
  • Knowledge of evidenced based MCH practice including up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge of women’s health, family and child health and development, and relevant community resources.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supported Playgroup Guidelines
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and its application to MCH practice. Skills in service review and development.
  • An ability to set priorities and achieve objectives despite conflicting pressures. An understanding of organizational objectives and the abilities to translate to personal and team objectives.
  • Ability to be flexible and responsive to meet the changing needs of the organisation and the community.  Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, train and motivate staff with an emphasis on team building.

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check. 
  • Registration with AHPRA
  • Current drivers licence
