Employment Status: Fixed term (12-month maternity leave)
Days & Hours of Work: Full time totalling 38 hours per week
Competitive Salary: Band 6 - $98,867.71 p.a. + 11.5% superannuation
Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home

About the Role:

The position is responsible for the delivery of Council’s suite of community events, including Christmas Carols. The role also establishes Bayside as a sector leading events and filming destination. Reporting to the Coordinator Recreation and Events, this role encourages a strong sense of community and pride.

You will be responsible for:

  • The delivery of Councils major events portfolio
  • Oversite of contracts to ensure safe and inclusive community events
  • Reviewing and permitting event applications on Council land
  • Developing Bayside as a preferred filming destination
  • High quality internal and external customer service

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Tertiary qualification in Events Management or other related discipline
  • Experience with planning, coordinating and permitting community events, preferably in a Local Government context
  • Experience working with community groups
  • Contract management experience
  • Awareness of risk management and safety protocols and legislation relating to events and filming

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
