Competitive Salary: Band 6 - $101833.74 p.a. + 12% superannuation
Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with some flexibility to work from home

About the Role:

The Equity and Inclusion Project Officer role has primary responsibility for drafting, developing, implementing and evaluating equity and inclusion initiatives, partnerships and policy to promote social, economic and cultural inclusion in Bayside.

The Equity and Inclusion Project Officer position will establish effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and will focus on the delivery of projects and policy initiatives related to the Health and Inclusion Plan 2025-2029 (including disability, LGBTIQA+, gender equity and multicultural areas). The role also supports Councils Disability, Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee.

You will be responsible for:

• Key actions within the Health and Inclusion Plan 2025-2029 (including Disability access and inclusion) ensuring its implementation is in line with community need and legislation.
• Monitoring and evaluating equity and inclusion initiatives.
• Managing key partnerships and stakeholders working in diversity, equity and inclusion space.  
• Ensuring a high functioning Disability, Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee is in place and key Council and community items are being discussed and reviewed by the Committee.
• Ensure community diversity, equity, and inclusion are front of mind in council project developments and delivery.
• Improving access to information about relevant services and community activities that support social, economic and cultural inclusion in Bayside.
• Providing advice on equity and inclusion policy related issues.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

• Demonstrated experience in partnerships and stakeholder management.
• Ability to influence culture change across organisations, in cross-functional teams and settings related to equity and inclusion.  
• Ability to building strong community relationships including leading and coordinating committees and/or working groups.
• Previous experience in working with people with disabilities, diverse backgrounds and/or people experiencing additional barriers.
• Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating multiyear strategic plans related to equity and inclusion.  

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

• Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
• Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check. 
• Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
