Employment Status: 12-month contract commencing 20 January 2025 – 20 January 2026 (part time)
Days & Hours of Work: 2 days totalling 15.2 hours per week (can also be split over 3 days)
Competitive Salary: Band 5 - $80,620 - $94,064 pro rata (dependent on experience) + 11.5% superannuation
Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home

About the Role:

We are searching for a talented communications professional to help spread the word on Bayside’s fabulous library programs. This role is a fixed term, part time position 12-month contract commencing 20 January 2025 – 20 January 2026.

This 0.4 part time role can be done over 2 days or 3 part days to fit your life.

Role Responsibilities:

Reporting into the External Communications and Media Coordinator, the role will tap into your passion for crafting engaging content, talent for managing stakeholders and genuine enthusiasm for the literacy and creative sector.

Libraries at Bayside are about so much more than books (naturally these are brilliant too). Our libraries are hubs for learning, social connection, entertainment, community activities and much more.

With support you will develop and implement marketing, communications and audience engagement strategies, working across print, social, digital, video and other media.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and manage multiple priorities autonomously.
  • Ability to research and develop content for multiple channels including social media, online and print publications.
  • Desire to contribute to a high performing communications team that are passionate about their day to day.
  • Interest in the literary and creative sector and local government.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/ or demonstrated skills/experience in developing and implementing public relations, marketing, communications strategies and campaigns.

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children Check
